I’d like to share with you a sampling of my musical activities. These are rough mixes of some of my songs. It
turns out Tumblr is an excellent side for uploading audio files. Hooray Tumblr.
Most other sites and players only allow for existing material for linking for
marketing purposes. I’ll eventually have a single link directing you to my Tumblr blog that I’ll dedicate solely for
music, until then, the individual links on the left are begging for a click.
Rhapsody, a temporary title,
sounds like a film score to me. Is anyone seeking a composer for a book
trailer?
An Ordinary Waltz is, well, I’ll
give you one guess.
My Place is a typical song,
nothing special. I’m waiting for my lyricist to get busy.
It Could Be Today is my
current favorite. Marcus Simeone wrote most of the lyrics. He has yet to add
vocals.
Hustle, another working
title is my attempt at the R&B/Pop market. I used to live in Glen Cove a few
blocks from Ashanti. Her father loved this jam and promised to pass it on
to his daughter. I’m assuming the five years of silence since meant she passed
on it. WAAAA. (See crying baby.)
The tech side: I digitally recorded everything at home without
sequencers, aside from the drum machine on My
Place and Hustle. Don’t get too excited, I don’t play the oboe.
My keyboards make virtually any sound I can imagine. Also, unlike the literary
world where copyright notices are frowned upon, the music world requires it for
protection. All music is copyrighted. Extra points if you can tell me who that famous handwriting up top belongs to.

Very nice! I have no idea who the handwriting belongs to, but your music is great. I agree that Rhapsody sounds like a film score. : )
ReplyDeleteHi Ara. Thanks for the kind words. :) I called it Rhapsody because I couldn't nail down the proper form. It may change. The handwriting is Beethoven's, it's his First Symphony scribbles. Such scribbles!
DeleteTumblr is also a great site for pornography. I've got several tumblr sites bookmarked that have great porn selections.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Michael. A person like me would never view porn. Can you spot the lie in this comment? :)
DeleteThanks for sharing this! I've been enjoying Tumblr so much, especially when you post. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I wanted to add that I think anyone who can compose music is BRILLIANT. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you Michelle! If you're going to call me names, then so be it; brilliant it is. Who am I to argue with a lady?
DeleteOh No! and me with 6 days left to my Internet Service billing cycle and 99% bandwidth used up! So, I'll have to wait to listen to your music...:(
ReplyDeleteI did not know there was still a limit on bandwidth usage in some places. I'll have to run off some CD's for you.
DeleteReally? You'd do that?!!
Delete...and yeah, 5GB per month...and me, with all my graphics--sucks up the bandwidth...:( (and compulsively checking blogs and FB and inbox, lol)
E-mail me your address (and name - lol) and I'll send it snail mail. I have others to send out anyway, so it's not even an extra trip.
DeleteLove the music! The first song sounds perfect for a film score. It's intense!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, thank you. I'm going through a classical phase. Within a month, I should be posting more "proper" songs.
